| THE Junior Talent programme started in earnest with more than 300 players turning out for assessments during the October half- term. Mark Cornwell, Assistant Academy Manager, said, “The standard of player’s was very high and it was a very difficult task to make the final selection.” He added, “selection is the most contentious area within a team sport as ability cannot be with the best score or time like many other sports. Players for this programme have been selected against 4 key areas, their athletic ability, rugby skills, attitude and above all their potential to improve and become elite players. |
