The AASE (Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence) is run by Hartpury College in partnership with Gloucester Rugby Club. The scheme is designed to allow promising young players (16 to 18 year olds) to follow a structured training programme in a professional environment, whilst studying for 'A' Levels or a BTEC National Diploma.

The Programme is an NVQ Level 3 and is spilt into eight different specialised units including technical and tactical aspects of the game, conditioning, lifestyle management and career planning.

The course is fully endorsed by the Rugby Football Union and is the preferred route for academy players who aspire to progress into the professional game.

The college also holds careers morning on the following dates throughout the year for prospective students. They run from 10am - 12:30pm and operate on a drop in service with campus tours to enhance your view of the college.

The dates are as follows:

• 12 March 2011
• 23rd April 2011
• 25th August 2011

These mornings give you a great opportunity to meet the academic staff at the college and the rugby staff who are in charge of the rugby academy
