ABOUT US
The Community Team at Gloucester Rugby aim to succeed in making a difference to the lives of many young people through the projects we run. Activities include schools coaching, inspiring and motivating young people through initiatives such as Onside, Healthy Living Programmes and transforming attitudes to learning through a variety of education programmes.
The community team visit more than 100 schools across Gloucestershire each season offering sessions to more than 12,000 young people. In addition, to a further 2000 young people taking part in educational sessions held at Kingsholm Stadium.
Our Community programmes aim to deliver huge benefits to the local community by using the unique ability of rugby to address a broad range of issues; supporting disadvantaged young people by utilising the rugby club, its brand, the players and stadium as a tool to improving their lives helping to reduce anti-social behaviour, improve confidence, communication, physical fitness and self-worth in young people in order to assist them into education, training or employment offering a complimentary service that supports the education sector by offering activities that help raise standards across the curriculum
Gloucester Rugby Community Projects are designed to give all young people involved the opportunity to fulfil their potential and to play a positive and active role in society.
Our goal is to make a difference and contribute to the National Agenda of providing services for young people, regardless of their background or circumstances, to have the support they need to:
· be healthy
· stay safe
· enjoy and achieve
· make a positive contribution
· achieve economic well-being.
We work with partners from the Health and Education Services to find out what works best for children and young people in our area and deliver projects accordingly. More details on our projects can be found within the community pages on this website.
