With temperatures peaking in the low-30s, the Legion Legends Rugby Festival featured current and former players from a host of top level British rugby clubs.
Saracens, Harlequins, London Irish, London Welsh, Leicester Tigers, Worcester, Gloucester, and Bristol all participated in a tournament, which included former greats such as Tim Stimpson, Henry Paul, Freddy Tuilagi, and Rory Jenkins.
The Final saw Saracens facing off against London Irish and prevailing with a score of 35 - 8.
Former Gloucester and England great Henry Paul commented:
"What a great day! The heat was immense but it was so much fun to get stuck in and see some of the guys again. Once you step back on that pitch, all the competitive juices start to flow again and it's like nothing has changed."
Additional winners included CLIC Sergeant Godfathers, who beat Olorun Godfathers in the amateur veterans' final and Wooden Spoon for their victory over Wasps Ladies in the women's final.
The variety of matches, coupled with the incredibly warm weather, various food stands and dedicated children's area meant that the Legion Legends Rugby Festival offered something for everyone and brought fans to the 34-acre site in their hundreds.
Tim Stimpson, previously of Leicester, England & the British & Irish Lions added:
"I'm sure I'll feel this tomorrow, but for now, I can't stop grinning. Great weather, great day, great rugby - what more could you want? I'll definitely be back next year."
Bringing the day to a close were UK chart toppers and musical legends UB40.
With hits including Red Red Wine, Can't Help Falling In Love and I Got You Babe, they helped finish the day's events off in style and made sure all attendees left satisfied and in happy anticipation of a repeat event in 2014.
