Camps took place in two separate places, the first in Gloucester's well known Old Richians RFC, while the second in Cheltenham at the prestigious Pates Grammar School.
Both camps provided two days of fun and rugby coaching for junior players wishing to get some extra rugby tuition and also to meet and spend time with a Gloucester Rugby star. Each camp was run professionally by Gloucester Rugby community coaching staff, providing up to date coaching in line with the RFU continuum.
On the second day of each camp, the Gloucester Rugby experience was topped off in style by a player appearance. Old Richians camp was visited by loose head star Dan Murphy, who made an immediate impression, and participants of the Pates Grammar School got the chance to mingle and talk with winger Shane Monahan.
Both of the Gloucester Rugby players created great excitement on their arrival, and imparted words of rugby wisdom to each of the young players as the rudimentary Q&A session took place at the end of each camp. The Q&A session allowed the young supporters to get up close to their heroes and get that all too desirable autograph and picture.
As a bonus each young player also received a goody bag to take home as a momento of their experience.
Gloucester rugby camps run periodically throughout the year. For more information please visit www.gloucesterrugby.co.uk
The next camp taking place is the Christmas Camp at Kingsholm Primary School on 14 and 15 December.
