Gloucester Rugby Chosen Charities 08/09

British Heart Foundation

The British Heart Foundation

As the nation's heart charity, the British Heart Foundation focuses on three vital things:

Investing in pioneering research
We fund around 1,200 research projects investigating every aspect of heart disease - from causes and safer drugs to improving surgical techniques.

Supporting and caring for heart patients
We fund BHF Nurses who visit heart patients with all types of heart conditions in their homes. We provide defibrillators and echocardiograph machines for hospitals, emergency services and first-aiders.

Providing vital information to help people reduce their own risk of dying prematurely from a heart or circulatory related illness
We produce publications, videos and other materials for health professionals and the public including children. We inform people about how to improve the health of their heart through public information campaigns, advertising and the media.

The Pied-Piper Appeal

The Pied-Piper Appeal

A local charity that provide relief for sick children in Gloucestershire by raising money for better care and improved facilities.

Wooden Spoon

Wooden Spoon

Wooden Spoon is rugby's charity supporting mentally, physically and socially disadvantaged children and young people.

Signed Memorabilia

Due to the Clubs commitment to these charities, unfortunately, it must limit its support for any other requests. However, signed memorabilia is available for charities and other voluntary organisations, who are not within the selected three. Signed items including a signed shirt and signed ball can be purchased for £150 and £65 respectively all proceeds goes towards rugby and community development.

For more information on becoming a ‘Chosen Charity’ please the Community Department on 01452 872 286 or email cdp@gloucesterrugby.co.uk.
