And so Gloucester make another trip to France for the Amlin 2010/2011 and re-visit La Rochelle, a very popular destination for Gloucester supporters in the past!

No doubt will be a popular place to visit by Glaws fans. An historic, picturesque harbour based resort on the west coast about halfway down France. Local airport to the north, about 15 mins out of the town, with flights from Briz (Easyjet), Birmingham (Flybe) and Stanstead (Ryan).

The flights to the local airports seem to be summer only.

This is another French venue that is easy to get to by Eurostar and TGV. I would recommend that you choose to change at Lille rather than Paris {platform change as opposed to a station change} and I would also buy a ticket available through Eurostar only that lets you travel from Gloucester {or anywhere else in the UK for that matter} and across London for a very modest extra fee.

We stayed in a Best Western Hotel very close to the station (name escapes me now) which was excellent value for money and good quality {complementary champagne as part of your breakfast!}.

The town has an awful lot to offer and is worth an extended stay. It is an old town and the harbour area in particular is stunningly beautiful. Excellent food to be had as well.
A lot of Gloucester supporters set up camp in the General Humbert Pub and a lot of the players were in there post match too. They did us a deal on drink prices which was nice of them.

It is a fine, modern stadium with reasonably priced hot food and wine.

If we ever meet this team in a European competition again, I would strongly recommend going.
