There's a lot of expectancy around here now that ND is on board, but realistically what would be our benchmark for a successful season next year?

Personally, I think a top six and HC qualification is a minimum requirement, but would be really pleased if we were competing for a top four come March. In terms of quality, I would like to see our backs really fizzing again like they were in 2010/11 and a pack that can hold their own against any Premiership side in the scrum and all of them really competing in the ruck (not just Jim). That would leave me a happy half-full bunny next May.

HC qualification for 2013 by any means, fair or foul!

Undefeated at Kingsholm.

A team that looks like it's enjoying its rugby.

It would be nice to turn up at kingsholm knowing that it didn't matter who was visiting, the win was going to come rather than getting to half time and thinking can we pull this back from here?

We must make the HC... there are no excuses but being a optimistic kind of chap I would like to see a playoff at the end of the season. a semi will do but I still think our squad is up to it...

- Top 6 is a given
- Continuing development of our young squad with perhaps more players beginning to be involved in their national set ups
- A good Amlin Cup run (we've been a bit poor in Europe the last few years, I'd like to see us making ourselves known in Europe)
- Not seeing the team booed off at half time at Kingsholm

Heineken Qualification.
Make Kingsholm a fortress again.
Possible run in the Amlin.
Exciting attacking rugby to be played by our young and exciting backline. Hoping they develop even more and are given freedom.

Minimum requirement for good progress :smt001
- no home defeats
- fully competitive in every game against every team in every tournament
- Prem top 6 to qualify for HC
- Amlin semis
- LV semis

And to feel really well chuffed :smt003
- Prem final
- Amlin winner
- LV final

Any more than that and I'll be delirious! :smt044

HC qualification would be nice but sadly even that is tough these days, with probably nine or ten teams feeling they "should" be in the top 6.

Topping our Amlin group and getting to semi-finals at least should, for me, be a priority (we really nned to start cranking up the ERC seeding points). An Amlin win is likely to be tough but may not be beyond us.

Consistency in our play is the other major thing we seem to be lacking. We have shown we are capable of beating the best, but we have also shown we are capable fo losing to the worst. Tight though the Premiership margins can be (particularly in the middle eight or so teams), that is something we need to address. Our season might have been very different had we not allowed Newcastle - a frankly poor team - to do the double over us!

Quite simple for me...... go out with the attitude to win every game, both home and away. Only way to become champions imho.
