Darren came into the Abbey Business Lounge after the game to receive his award from Tony Wood, a guest of JS Security.
He then took part in an informal Q&A, facilitated by former Gloucester back row forward Simon Devereux alongside team mates Jimmy Cowan and Nick Wood.
Simon provided the following summary:
"A long overdue win at Kingsholm which lifted the Christmas spirits of all associated with Gloucester Rugby. Not a great spectacle but the win was all that mattered on this occasion, where the side showed a lot of character to grind out a result in difficult conditions, against an improving Worcester side.
"The foundation for Gloucester's win was laid by the pack, continuing their set piece improvement in recent weeks, to put Worcester under pressure in the scrum in particular.
"There were very few try scoring opportunities and the play from both sides was fragmented in the first half but Gloucester managed to build a lead as the 2nd half progressed.
"The character of the side was evident in defence towards the end of the game especially, as Worcester tried desperately to close the 12-6 deficit.
"Fitting that two of the front row forwards in Nick Wood and Darren Dawidiuk came up to the Abbey Business Lounge after the match with Jimmy Cowan to give their thoughts on the game where the overriding feeling was one of relief at getting the win in a fixture which is traditionally a hard fought local derby.
"The 1873 members and guests gathered were in good spirits following an impromptu Christmas sing-a- long led by Tony Wood, the guest of sponsors JS Security, before the players arrived!
"Another strong performance from Darren Dawidiuk was duly recognised by the 1873 members who awarded him the Man of the Match award.
"Gloucester will gain confidence from getting some reward for their efforts in recent weeks and should take that forward to London Irish and Saracens coming up in the Premiership."
