With over 60 construction related businesses attending, the evening saw not only great rugby but also great networking. Businesses came from Bristol, London and beyond to support this event.
Many people met for the first time and Paul Halfpenny had this to say:
"The construction industry has been in the doldrums for the last five years, with industry experts forever speculating that things will improve next year only for us all to find that it is just another tough year of hollow promise.
"However something very special happened last Thursday at Kingsholm, I met a group of Business people who all had one thing in common, construction, and this time it was different they were all so positive about the future, with talk of increased order books, more tenders all forecasting growth in the industry, particularly in House building and Infrastructure and this from people at the sharp end of the Construction sector, how refreshing."
The event was so well received Gloucester Rugby have decided to do a follow on event later in the season.
Angela Edwards, Business Development Manager, commented that,
"A huge part of what we do these days is to bring people together and support business. Sport is a great way to bond people and Gloucester Rugby feel very strongly about supporting local businesses.
"We have a great array of successful events these days from our match day networking opportunities to the Business Breakfast, Sportsman's lunch, Women Big in Business event and our weekly Business Club - something for everyone".
