Iain Courage, Fleet Line Markers Ltd said that when Gary (Community Manager at Gloucester) told them about the Fold Orphanage project, that they were very pleased to help.
Fleet have been supplying Gloucester for many years with line marking paints and machinery. Fleet are supplying the Fold with HSC and PMF paints to "zone paint" 750 square metres of concrete which will then have lines painted on it, this will then be used by the children as a sports playing area.
The Fold is a children's home and a place of safety for children in the Limpopo region of South Africa. Children are looked after by a house mother, where they become part of a family.
The children have been rescued from desperate situations but, at The Fold, they can live just as children-learning, playing and caring for each other. The aim is to create a loving and secure environment where children have hope for the future.
Gary Little, Community Manager, said:
"We are delighted and would like to thank Fleet for their help. We will be visiting The Fold with a small group of students from Churchdown school in July.
"While we are there we will clear and help to convert an area of waste ground into a usable sports playing surface. And, of course, the donation of materials from Fleet will enable us to achieve our mission."
Fleet are worldwide market leaders in sports line marking and have been suppliers to Gloucester Rugby for a number of years, in addition to numerous other professional Rugby and Football Clubs in the UK and across the whole of Europe, as well as local authorities, schools and grass roots clubs.
