This residential camp has proven to be extremely successful in previous years. This year the week long camp runs from Monday 5th to Friday 9th August. The setting for the camp is, once again, Chivenor Barracks, Devon, the home of the Royal Marines.
The quality of rugby coaching provided will ensure young aspiring players are given every opportunity to enhance skills and set a platform for future development.
This coupled with the mix of mental and physical challenges set by the Royal Marines will ensure players are tested to the full.
The rugby menu consists of the latest training methods and theories delivered by coaches who have a track record of developing talented young players. This will include core and positional skill sessions as well as conditioned games for strength and conditioning.
The Royal Marines provide trained officers to lead additional activities throughout the week providing guidance, support and motivation, giving an insight into the life of the Marines.
They will set Personal Fitness Tests, Observation and Leadership Tasks, plus Sand Dune Running, and assault courses.
This is a five day intensive programme aimed at developing good rugby players into elite performers. It is therefore expected that players arrive on the course possessing high levels of energy and determination to succeed.
The Summer Residential Rugby camp is open to players aged between 14 and 16 years old.
