The highest profile news item involving members of the Academy was the announcement of the England U20s side to face Scotland in the opening round of the U20s Six Nations this weekend.
The likes of Koree Britton, Ryan Mills and Dan Robson, who are all named in the starting line up, are all fairly well known to Gloucester supporters by now. All have been A League regulars and also featured at first team level.
However, named amongst the replacements for this game was second row Elliot Stooke who has made rapid strides in his game in recent months.
Elliott is actually involved in the set up ahead of schedule but Junior Academy Manager Billy Clark insists that his selection is well deserved.
"We're really pleased for Elliot, but not surprised that he's been asked to join the squad. He's one of the stand out players of his age group and being asked to join up with the England U20s two years young is a reflection of the ability he has.
"This will be a great experience for him and he'll learn a lot from more experienced players around him, the England coaching team and from being immersed in an international team environment."
Further down the age groups, Billy Burns and Ross Moriarty represented England U18s in a fixture against the Leicester Tigers last weekend while the England U18s/19s played recently against Wales with Moriarty, Stooke and Steph Reynolds playing for England as well as Ben Thomas playing for Wales.
Clark added that this sort of test at representative level is a vital part of the players' learning curves:
"Playing for England U18 is a great experience for guys like Billy, Ross and Steph. It takes them out of their comfort zone and tests them against the very best players of their age group.
"Ultimately our aim as an academy is to see these guys push on to play for Gloucester's first team and these international fixtures are essential in testing our players under the kind of pressure they need to get used to if they are to make the first team squad.
"Billy, Ross and Steph have handled the pressure well and are looking to push hard for a place in our senior academy next season."
Finally, Gloucester are pleased to see three players progress to the South West U16 squad - Sam Underhill, Tom Griffiths and Will Goodrick-Clark.
