Prior to the event schools in Gloucester took part in a Healthy Living Competition, run by Tesco, whereby each pupil had to design a poster representing a rugby player and the food and lifestyle that they need to remain healthy. The winning schools were then invited to Kingsholm.
In a fun-packed day, the young fans were given a tour of Kingsholm followed by a question and answer session with Gloucester and England full-back Olly Morgan.
Morgan then had to pick an overall winner from the poster competition and as Paul Rudland from Gloucester's community department explained: "The entries were fantastic and made the decision very difficult, it was fantastic to see so many kids involved. In the end, after a lot of deliberation, Sam Maszlag's poster from Churchdown Village Junior School was selected and he was presented with a signed shirt for his school."
Following the presentation the pupils then made their way to Bishop's College where Gloucester players Mark Foster and Ali James were on hand for a coaching session.
Once the children had finished the session they were then given a goody bag and a certificate, before making their way to Kingsholm.
At half-time the children paraded around the pitch and had a photograph in front of the South stand. A great thanks must go to Tesco, the pupils, teachers and parents because we all had a fantastic day at Kingsholm - it is what makes this club so special.
We would like to thank Tesco for sponsoring the pre-match experience and look forward to our next event in May when once again we will work together to provide another 80 children a fantastic day out.
