I have played 5 times for the Barbarians, twice againt England and South Africa and once against Ireland.
It was fantastic playing for the Barbarians, I played with so many great players such as Jonah Lomu. My greatest memory of my time with the Barbarians was my second game against England.
Personally I think that I played very well and maybe even the best game of my life. I even managed to score that day.
What is your greatest memory of Barbarian rugby?
My greatest memory was watching the Barbarians against New Zealand in 1970. It was a great match I think it was possibly the best game of the century. The skills on show were out of this world. Rugby has changed so much since then but at the same time the skills were same, the off-loading and running lines were exceptional.
What is your fondest memory of touring with the Barbarians?
I really enjoyed the tours, they were great fun. My fondest memory would be when I made my first appearance, We spent the evening in an Italian restaurant in London, we all had such a good time. It helped build relationships and I think it helped us as a team to play well.
The fact that I got to play with guys like Carlos Spencer, Jeremy Guscott, Tim Horan and Percy Montgomery made playing for the Barbarians very special. It was a fantastic experience.
Who do you think is the best player in the world at the moment?
I would say Dan Carter. The Barbarians pick the best players around the world such as Gareth Thomas, so it will be interesting to see who plays in the summer, but at the moment I would have to say Dan Carter the New Zealand and Canterbury Crusaders fly half.
What do you think of the Barbarians coming to Kingsholm?
I think it is fantastic, the supporters in this part of the world are great. The passion for rugby in Gloucester is unbelievable, for the Barbarians to come here with a fixture against Ireland is brilliant. It should be a great event.
What do you think of Kingsholm?
It has changed so much it is a great place to play as a player. The new stand offers so much, as supporters can really get behind the teams. The atmosphere here is so special.
It is similar to Toulouse because the atmosphere is incredible. The new facilities are great, the combination of new and old at Kingsholm make it a joy to play at.
