The 29-year-old starred in the victory over his former club which kicked off Gloucester's season in style back in September and quickly endeared himself to the Shed for his whole hearted display.
He has gone on to become a regular in the inside centre position making 19 appearances to date. Recent weeks have seen him in sparkling form and he played a key part in the team's first two tries in the recent win over Harlequins at Kingsholm.
Eli, as he is known to his team mates, told the club website after signing:
"I'm really enjoying my rugby with Gloucester. We play an open style of rugby that suits my game and our efforts are now being rewarded in terms of results on the field."
"So, hopefully we can challenge strongly on all three fronts in the competitions we are still in contention for this season."
"The squad is shaping up nicely for next season and I had no hesitation in committing to Gloucester on a long term basis."
