However, it took until the 20thminute for the home side to finally break through when they forced a penalty try after a period of possession near the Gloucester line.
Gloucester bounced back as they finally secured some meaningful possession. One catch and drive in the Bath 22 threatened much but came to nothing but Taylor stroked over a penalty after some strong running by Tim Molenaar and Tom Voyce.
Bath responded well as their forwards again did the hard work before fly half Paul Roberts jinked his way over for the second try for a 12-3 half time lead.

Bath were now running the game and Guy Mercer finished off a sweeping move from deep to secure the bonus point.
A neat break from Tim Taylor was a defiant reply but the subsequent pass went to ground and home number eight Will Skuse powered over from close range after a Gloucester turnover in their own 22.
Gloucester had done a massive amount of tackling and were now looking a tired outfit as Bath finished strongly.
Winger Nick Scott sidestepped his way past some weak defence before Boussuge forced his way over in the corner to round off the scoring at 45-3 on an evening largely to forget for Gloucester.
