The money raised through Try Lines, a weather lottery, will go into supporting Gloucester Rugby's community development department and will support the development of grassroots rugby in addition to promoting a healthy and physically active lifestyle for children all over Gloucestershire.
Gloucester's head of sales and marketing, Pete Grzonka, said: "We think it's a fantastic initiative and hope it is something our supporters will really get behind. Not only does it give players the chance to win £10,000 daily but also goes a long way to supporting our very successful and growing community development department.
"It will be launched on Saturday at one of our biggest games of the season and we hope it will really capture the imagination of rugby supporters and lottery enthusiasts alike."
It could not be easier to play Try Lines. Players simply choose six numbers, these numbers then become their permanent try line. The 'lottery' draw happens daily and is generated by taking the last digit of the Fahrenheit temperature of six predetermined world cities. If your numbers match up then you can win £10,000 every day.
The winning numbers are published daily in the 'World Weather' sections of most national newspapers or are listed on www.theweatherlottery.com
Players are able to choose as many lines as they want with different sets of numbers or, for example, three lines with the same numbers which would give them the chance of winning up to £30,000 every day.
The lottery works in such a way as to ensure that players win prizes as often as possible. For instance if you get three of your six numbers correct you win £2, if you get four winning numbers you win £20, five correct numbers wins £200 and if all 6 numbers are exact you win the grand prize of £10,000. And remember the draw is daily, that's just 20p per play.
From the 18th November, Gloucester staff will be handing out leaflets which will allow you to register for the lottery and it will be promoted at Kingsholm. A player can register as many lines as they wish at a cost of £1 per line per week. The money is collected automatically each month via Direct Debit or credit/debit card. Once registered, winning cheques are automatically generated and posted out to your home address so there is no need to worry about lost tickets or unclaimed prizes.
What sets this apart from other lotteries is that for only £1 per line, per week, players have a chance to win every day, rather than spending £1 a week on a conventional lottery and only having one chance.
