The Kingsholm centre was replaced at half-time during England's 40-3 victory over Samoa last Saturday because of a hip injury after winning his eighth cap.
He will continue to be assessed by Gloucester's medical team this week in the belief he could feature in the Rec encounter.
"His right hip is very sore," said Gloucester's head coach Dean Ryan. "He will continue to be monitored this week and we obviously hope to have him available on Saturday.
"We will just see how he goes this week and watch how the bruising reacts to treatment. At this stage we just have to keep a close eye on the situation."
Scrum-half Haydn Thomas suffered a blow to the left side of his lower back during Gloucester's 19-8 victory over Saracens but he is expected to be fit to face Bath.
Adam Eustace (dead leg) and Mark Foster (elbow) are expected back in training tomorrow and should also feature in the Powergen Cup clash.
