James Forrester is named on the bench and summer signing Peter Richards is also amongst the replacements.
The game kicks off at 3pm, and the Kingsholm bar will be open from 1pm and showing the game live for an end of season event. All pints are just £1.50.
Elsewhere in the England starting line-up Pat Sanderson is named as captain for the first time, with England coach Joe Lydon in charge of the squad.
After successful performances in the RBS 6 Nations, Jamie Noon of Newcastle Falcons starts at 12 in a centre pairing with Ayoola Erinle of London Wasps who makes his first appearance for the senior England team. Apart from Noon, who is then being rested over the summer in preparation for the Investec Challenge internationals this autumn, all the other England players selected today for the game against the Barbarians will also be travelling to Canada next month for the Churchill Cup.
Saturday's game offers the England players an invaluable opportunity to gel together before the tour to Edmonton where they face Canada and possibly the touring Argentina side that drew 25-25 with the Lions in Cardiff last night.
Pat Sanderson's selection as captain for Saturday's England XV and tour, crowns what has been an outstanding season for him as captain of Worcester Warriors.
Said Sanderson: "I'm really looking forward to captaining the England XV this week and everything that lies ahead for us in Canada. It goes without saying this is a huge honour for me to step up to the captaincy, as it's something every England player aspires to. Saturday is a hugely important game for us and the tour to Canada offers the whole squad a fantastic opportunity to impress and further our England careers."
With England head coach Andy Robinson departing tomorrow for New Zealand on Lions duty, Lydon is in charge of England's fortunes at Twickenham and in Canada. Said Lydon,
"You always know when you face the Barbarians team that you will be up against a world class set of players who have both the ability and desire to play entertaining, quality rugby. What you dont know is how well they will come together as a team. But in many ways it's exactly the same for us. How we gel is all part of the learning process and also part of the excitement as we prepare for Canada.
"It was interesting watching Argentina in their game against the Lions on Monday, as this is a team we may very well face in Canada next month. Their commitment and team spirit against world class opposition was there for all to see.
"As for Saturday and the Barbarians, there's no doubt the game will be just as tough, fast and hopefully entertaining, with both sides wanting to perform and both sides with something to prove. We couldn't ask for better preparation for the Churchill Cup tour than to perform in front of a home crowd at Twickenham.
"This is Pat's first opportunity to captain an England XV. He has played well for his club all season, leading by example and from the front and I know he will have the full respect of the whole squad when he leads out the players on Saturday."
