Wooden Spoon Tag Rugby - Latest News

Members of the community team visited 12 different schools in the area, each of which had a mixture of classroom sessions and tag rugby sessions. The educational sessions contained information on the history of the club, new developments on and off the field at Kingsholm, a week in the life of a Gloucester player and how the class spent their own spare time.

The children were then asked to complete an activity diary for their week and return it in order to calculate a percentage of how they spent their time. The fun-based Tag Rugby sessions aimed to get the kids out of the classroom and onto the pitch, allowing them to become active and learn a few skill's on their way.

All of the schools that participated in the programme have been invited to attend a Tag Rugby Tournament at Bishop's College School on Saturday 30th June.

Community Rugby Coach Andy Adams said: "The programme has been a great success. Having the ability to involve young children in an active programme such as this is really rewarding, it is such a great way of getting the message across to the youth of today that a healthy life-style is very important."
