Prior to sending over the flag it was signed by a number of the Gloucester players including, Rory Lawson, James Forrester, Mark Foster, Andy Hazell and Marco Bortolami.
Ben attended Beaufort School and has played rugby for Widden Old Boys.
Cliff Pearn, from Tredworth, Gloucester, is a warrant officer in the Army Physical training Corps, and is currently in Afghanistan. He tries to keep up to speed with Gloucester Rugby.

Cliff's job is to ensure the troops are physically robust enough for the task ahead of them and he undertakes all physical training and teaches PT to enable them to maintain their fitness.
The camp where Cliff is serving is dominated by American staff who display their teams baseball flags in their accommodation windows. Therefore, Cliff is very proud to be showing his allegiance by flying the Gloucester Rugby flag in his quarters that breaks up the army of American flags.
Cliff is looking forward to returning home soon and hopes to be at Kingsholm for the Newcastle match, 24th March.
