Each group received 10 hours worth of rugby coaching which focused on the core skills such as handling, running, contact and continuity.
The Christmas Camp was a unique experience for those attending as they had the opportunity to be coached not only by Gloucester Academy coaching staff but also by a number of 1st XV players such as; Brad Davies, Jack Adams, Jake Boer, Olivier Azam, Patrice Collazo, Hadyn Thomas, Peter Buxton, Mefin Davies, Willie Walker and Will James.

The difference between this camp compared to any other was due to the fact the players were around for the whole day which meant the youngsters were able to get to know them and really learn from the experience.
The 1st XV players that took part in the camp were interested in helping at the camp as part of their development as coaches but also in order to give something back to the community.

Jake Boer said: "It's great to see so many young players coming to these camps as they provide the best coaching environment for the kids to learn. All of the coaching is game-based which means the kids have fun but at the same time learn lots."
The coaching staff on-hand enabled the participants to gain an insight into the life of a Premiership rugby player but more importantly gave them inspiration to perform to their best.
Some of the responses from the participants were: "I really enjoyed being coached by the players, everybody listened more and I think we learnt so much. It was great fun."
"I've been to lots of these camps but this was by far the best. The facilities are great and the fact that all the players were coaching all day was brilliant".
The next camp will be held at Pate's Grammar School, Cheltenham. The camp will take place during the February half term on Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th February. The course is open to players of all abilities from 8-16 years of age.
