The Forest of Dean enjoys a close relationship with Gloucester Rugby whereby players are placed on loan to gain valuable match time at this high level, in a very competitive national division. Academy second row Dave Markham is also part of the loan scheme where he plays for Cinderford each weekend.
Former Gloucester legend Andy Deacon is Director of Rugby at Cinderford and is looking forward to this local derby clash as both teams strive for much-needed points.
Deacon has also been appointed as Assistant Coach alongside Hartpury's Allan Lewis (head coach) for the upcoming Gloucester Presidents XV game v Combined Services which is being staged at Kingsholm on Tuesday 8th November and features a host of famous names past and present!
