Angela Edwards, Gloucester Rugby's New Business Manager, confirmed the thinking behind the launch.
"The idea behind this new event is to encourage local professional women to come together and forge new business relationships and share their own experiences."
"At the same time, you can enjoy a fantastic lunch while listening to guest speakers and take advantage of the great networking opportunities that follow."
Angela came up with the idea realising there was a distinct shortage of such events for women. She therefore decided to put together a strong committee of professional local women to help bring about this event.
Suzanne Hall-Gibbins from Gloucestershire Chamber, Jane Williams and Carol Jones from Barclays Corporate, Helen Lovatt from Jelf, Carol Freeman from Asha and Clare Reader, Gloucester Rugby's 1873 Club Manager were amongst the attendees.
"The first event was a resounding success and Gloucester Rugby are proud to be associated with such fantastic new events, being the facilitator to many new business relationships on a match day."
"It's great to have the venue that allows us to instigate such events and stimulate new business locally."
Feedback from the attendees was positive with some of the comments received after the events as follows:
"It was good to be able to network and whilst I very much enjoyed the interviews."
"It was our first attendance and we very much look forward to joining you again."
"Thank you for a great event…..very inspiring to be in the company of so many high profile and successful women…..the boys better watch out!!"
"Many thanks for a really splendid event on Wednesday. Please keep me posted about the event on 14th September."
The next event will see TV presenter Jill Douglas interviewing Mary Curnock Cook, OBE the Chief Executive of UCAS.
