The back row forward made his first Heineken Cup appearance for the club in the 2002-3 season. Receiving the award is no mean achievement - the only other player in the squad to have made 50 appearances in the tournament is Tom Voyce.
Accordingly, it was Tom who presented with Bucko with his cap to mark the occasion.
It signifies the Cheltenham born player's consistency and commitment to the club since he arrived from Newport as Nigel Melville's first signing for Gloucester.
The timing is also appropriate given that he has just embarked upon a celebration year marking ten years at the club.
