The Bill McLaren Foundation is in its infancy and was officially launched on 4th March 2010 at Murrayfield.
We are focusing on attendance at the dinner to spread the message and values of the Foundation throughout the rugby community. The Foundation's web site is www.billmclarenfoundation.co.uk
Bill who will be forever known as the 'Voice of Rugby', before his death last January gave his full support to the initiative, which has been set up for three purposes:
• To develop and promote the sport of rugby union and its values.
• To encourage and provide sporting opportunities for young people.
• To create an Educative Centre which will include the Bill McLaren Archive.
The RFU have thrown their weight behind the Twickenham dinner and the RFU Foundation will be the event beneficiaries, with a donation from the profit of table sales and event sponsorship funds on the night going towards an RFU grass roots community programme in the London and South East region.
John Inverdale has agreed to be the MC on the night and Martin Bayfield will be the guest speaker.
Please see below an advertisement for the dinner and an event booking form.
