The history of the Cherry and White hooped shirt is an interesting one. Gloucester were originally set to wear a Navy blue strip but forgot their kit en route to an away game. They stopped off at Painswick RFC and borrowed some Cherry and White hooped shirts. The game was won and the new colours were adopted.
The hooped shirt has therefore been associated as Gloucester Rugby’s traditional colours. The design returns by popular demand and will be the first time a hooped shirt has been the official first team jersey since the 2004-05 season.
