Coral.co.uk, the official betting and gaming partner of the Guinness Premiership, were offering fans the chance to have number patches pressed on to their shirts for FREE and the added option of printing a name of their choice for just £5, with all proceeds being generously donated to the Sue Ryder Care charity. Gloucester Rugby and Bath Rugby fans alike came to have shirts pressed for friends and loved ones, raising £340 for the charity.
Coral.co.uk also offered one lucky fan the opportunity to kick on the pitch at half time for the chance to win up to £675 in cash! Gloucester's Daniel Sweet, on his stag weekend, was the lucky winner selected to make his debut on the Kingsholm turf and was given three £25 stakes on three separate kicks. Dressed in a bunny outfit and despite missing his first shot from the 8/1 mark, Daniel was inspired by a raucous crowd and coolly converted his next two attempts from the 4/1 spot to win £250.
Commenting on the day, Daniel said: "I couldn't believe it when I found out I'd be kicking on the pitch at half-time. To be honest, I wasn't expecting to do well given I was dressed in a bunny outfit and had been enjoying Gloucester's bar facilities for most of the afternoon! The crowd were awesome though and gave me a huge cheer - all in all I was pretty pleased to knock a couple over. I just want to thank Coral for giving me the chance to kick on the pitch and win the money - it really topped off a great weekend."
The Coral.co.uk Roadshow is running until April 2009 at the remaining fixtures:
Saturday 14th March: NORTHAMPTON SAINTS v Sale Sharks
Sunday 22nd March: LONDON IRISH v Northampton Saints
Sunday 5th April: LONDON WASPS v Newcastle Falcons
