The camps designed by Olly Morgan and the Community department at Gloucester Rugby were aimed at developing core skills for players aged between 8 and 14. Those that took part were coached using the latest 'Game Sense' coaching sessions aimed at including all participants with the specific aim of improving core skills within game situations.
Olly Morgan attended all 4 days along with Gloucester players such as Nick Wood, Scott Lawson, Henry Trinder, Charlie Sharples and Andy Hazell.
Despite Olly picking up a minor injury prior to the camps he managed to coach all groups and said, 'The camps have been great fun, the players that have taken part have all improved their skills massively. The coaching staff have done a great job using some of the coaching games that we use within the first team at Gloucester'.
'I have been very impressed by the standard of the youngsters out there and have really enjoyed the week despite not being able to take part as much as I would have liked. I am really looking forward to running more camps in the future.'
There are still places available at the last summer rugby camp being held at Sir Thomas Rich's Sport Centre on Thursday 20th and Friday 21st August. To book you place please contact the Community Department on 01452 872286 or click here for more information.
