The captains and Directors of Rugby set their times at the Guinness Premiership season launch back in August with Bruce Reihana and Dean Ryan leading their respective categories.
And, when the final pass had been spun and the results compiled, it was a Gloucester Rugby supporter and box holder who blew away the professionals and topped the rankings!
The Guinness Festival visited Kingsholm in February when Gloucester took on Sale Sharks and Arthur Hindmarch set the season best with a pass recorded at an amazing 43.9mph.
Arthur, MD of Cheltenham based office services company Commercial Group, has been a box holder in the West Stand at Kingsholm for six years now and can now call himself Guinness Fan of the Season.
As his prize, he will receive a pair of season tickets to the club of his choice for the 2009/10 Rugby Premiership season.
Arthur expressed his delight today:
"I was absolutely amazed when I got the phone call to let me know that I'd won."
"When I saw the Guinness Festival in the car park at Kingsholm, I thought I'd give it a go but never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that I would be the quickest in the country."
