The covers came off yesterday to allow Dave Balmer and his team to work and the pitch and mark it up for Sunday before being covered again.
As an added precaution, additional covers have been brought in ahead of the weekend which allow heaters to circulate warm air underneath them.
Gloucester Rugby's Operation Manager Sean Roberts told the club website:
"We've had a spell of cold overnight temperatures recently and couldn't afford to take any chances with the playing surface."
"I'm confident that the precautions we've taken will allow the match to take place on Sunday as if the cold weather hadn't taken place."
