All of the camps aim to encourage and inspire young rugby players to become the best that they can be and who knows may well one day develop into the next professional player to run out at Kingsholm in the famous 'cherry and white' shirt.
Paul Rudland, Gloucester Rugby Community Development Officer:
"We pride ourselves on being able to provide not only a great rugby coaching experience but also in providing the chance for young people to learn team skills, sportsmanship and much more."
"Our rugby camps are open to players from aged 8 to 16 and all of our coaches meet a set criteria including, enhanced CRB checks, Safeguarding and Protecting Children, Equity and an RFU coaching certificate."
"We coach players on a ratio of 1:10 ensuring that every participant can enjoy the course to his/her maximum potential."
This summer Gloucester and England fullback, Olly Morgan, will be taking a lead role during the August Camps.
A two day camp will take place at Cheltenham College, 3rd/4th August and a further two day camp will take place at the home of Gloucester Rugby, Kingsholm Stadium, 6th and 7th August.
Morgan said:
"I am looking forward to working with the community team on this summers rugby camps. I was lucky to have experienced some great coaches in my younger day who inspired me to continue to play and I hope to use my professional experience to pass on some of the skills I have learnt to the next generation".
Gloucester has also organised a residential Camp in association with the Army's Rifles Regiment, which takes place at Beachley Barracks, Chepstow from 20th July to 24th July.
The five day residential is open to young players aged 14 to 16. It will include rugby specific skill sessions and in addition the Army will lead team building, command tasks and a range of other activities to keep all entertained.
The focus is Rugby although the Army will support and build a programme allowing youngsters to understand career development within the forces.
There are limited spaces on this course so anyone interested is advised to book early to avoid disappointment.
