To cater for different levels there will be an A and B section and four groups of four teams will play on a league basis over three days.
The winning teams will proceed to a semi final playoff and there are eight trophies to be won in the final. The Tournament which was launched last Thursday at Jury's River Lee Hotel, Cork City, has been endorsed by the Rugby Football Union.
Hartpury College will house most of the Irish rugby teams who are competing and host all of the games. It is situated 5 miles from Gloucester on 800 acres of land and offers sports scholarships in many disciplines for 3rd level students. It will host the equestrian events in the 2012 Olympic Games.
Aidan Gallagher, Sports Tour Director, Topflight Sports for Schools said:
"This is a unique and historic tournament which, for the first time ever, allows some of the top rugby schools in the country to play competitively against top class opposition from other rugby unions. It is the ideal preparation for Irish schools as they begin their training in earnest for the Senior Cup competitions in their respective provinces."

Gary Little, Community Manager, Gloucester Rugby, expressed the views of the club when he confirmed that:
