The Norton RFC first team will be training with Gloucester Rugby courtesy of QBE, Official Business Insurance Partner of Premiership Rugby.
They are one of twelve grassroots rugby clubs across the country to be awarded a training session with top Premiership Rugby players and coaches, as well as £1,000 worth of training equipment.
The QBE Rugby Pro training sessions will offer specialist advice on technical and physical rugby skills which have been identified by each winning club as areas for their improvement
QBE, the specialist in business insurance, awarded the prizes to clubs who demonstrated how winning the training session and equipment would benefit the development of the club.
The judges were impressed by Norton'sambition to progress after the club was founded in May 2011. Their community spirit and understanding of the game also shone through in their entry.
Jeremy Chandler, Chairman of Norton RFC,said:
"We are so proud to win this fantastic prize. Norton is Gloucestershire's youngest rugby club and we strive to increase our membership numbers and links with the local community.
"It will undoubtedly benefit our players and coaches to train with professionals from Gloucester by improving all aspects of rugby across the club."
Chris Bevan, Commercial Manager of QBE's Bristol operation, said:
"We are delighted that Norton RFC has won. Their entry was a great example of how sport helps inspire the community, and we hope that the contribution of a specialist training session and new equipment from QBE will help the club to develop and introduce more people to the game."
In its second year, and going from strength to strength, the competition was judged by a panel which included members of the media, Premiership Rugby and QBE.
