He was part of the squad that performed so well in the JP Morgan Sevens Series over the summer before marking his Aviva Premiership debut with four tries in the 82-0 demolition of the Worcester Cavaliers.
Only a few days later, he made his first team bow as a replacement at London Irish when he received a late call up following an injury to Martyn Thomas in the warm up.
And that was followed by a full debut in the televised fixture against Worcester last weekend - phew!
But, if he needed anyone to help keep his feet on the ground, he's now got it with Simon starting work as a Community Rugby Development Manager with the club.
Shane admitted to the Gloucester Citizen that it's been a pretty amazing time:
"That week was great for a number of reasons. The Worcester A game went very well. That was a great win, to put them away by 80 points and to score four tries, I don't think I'd done that before, maybe in an underage game.
"And we found out on the Tuesday that my brother Simon had got the job as a Community Rugby Development Manager for Gloucester.
"So to make my Premiership debut in the Irish game as well, and get a win too, that was a great way to end the week."
