On behalf of London Welsh I would like to apologise to any supporters who experienced an unacceptable delay in purchasing tickets at yesterday's Aviva Premiership game at the Kassam Stadium.
The sheer numbers of 'walk-up' spectators took us completely by surprise. Our 'expert advice' predicted a maximum of 800 and nearly double that number actually wanted to buy tickets on the day.
We got it nearly right for our first game against the Tigers and had spare capacity for the Exeter Chiefs game. The prediction for the Gloucester game was somewhere in between and we reacted accordingly.
Rest assured we shall always have six ticket booths operational on match days with the option of opening more at short notice if necessary.
Sorry again. I hope it didn't spoil the experience too much - it was a great game of rugby - we are working extremely hard to eliminate such problems in the future.
John Taylor
