This tape is actually Kinesiology tape, which has been utilised by athletes worldwide since around 2008, and Gloucester Rugby have now linked up with ROCKTAPE UK as their exclusive supplier.
Gloucester Rugby's Head of Medical Services Bob Stewart confirmed that he and Head Physiotherapist Adam Brett are delighted to be working with ROCKTAPE, having carried out significant research into the subject.
"With regards to the ROCKTAPE deal, both Adam and I have found it to be the most durable and effective of the kinesiology tapes on the market.
"It provides instant results in certain conditions with the correct application and stays on even during full contact work, something that all the other tapes have failed to do.
"We ran a Rocktape Course in September at Hartpury and sought out the partnership deal on the back of that.
"It aims to normalise muscle tone and activation working through proprioceptive feedback mechanisms, provides pain relief, reduces swelling and can be used to normalise posture and movement patterns.
"It provides a very useful adjunct to our other treatment and rehabilitation programmes."
