The last thing the Cherry and Whites would have wanted to do on a cold November evening, would be to face their in form club team mate!
Qera was in sensational form against the Tigers. He put in some devastating hits in defence and carried the ball powerfully in attack, including scoring a second half try.
With Andy Hazell suspended and Ben Morgan on England duty, back row resources might have been stretched over the next few weeks, so having Qera to call upon is a real bonus for Davies:
"He told me that he wanted to focus on Gloucester this year and I'm delighted with that because he was absolutely fabulous today.
"It's important to point out that we urge all our players to push for international rugby, and we would never ask a player to sacrifice that.
"His impact in the collision and his ball carrying is great. When you've got players like that in the team, it actually lifts the whole side.
"I thought our whole back row was very powerful today and laid down a big marker."
