Meeting the local media for the first time this week, the 22 year old revealed that coming to one of Gloucester's recent matches had helped to convince him that it was the right career move for him.
"I've watched a lot of Gloucester's games this year, and I can see some real similarities, it's been really good to watch.
"I came to watch Harlequins against Gloucester recently, and that was a great experience for me.
"The fans were fantastic that night, and I hear it is like that every week, and that's excellent. There's so much passion there, they just want their club to do well, and that's what it's all about."
And, of course, the opportunity to link up again with Nigel Davies, a huge influence on his career, was also a big part of his decision.
"It'll be good to link up with Nigel again. I obviously know him well from the Scarlets and he's done a great job here at Gloucester.
"The way Nigel coaches, what he's done here at Gloucester, it just goes to show again what a great coach he is.
"The players and the management at Gloucester are right up there among the best, and it's an exciting place to be.
"Gloucester remind me a lot of when I first started at the Scarlets when Nigel (Davies) was there - moving the ball around from deep, playing with our heads up and playing some really exciting rugby.
"To be fair to Nigel, he always said if you're playing well you'll keep the jersey.
"That's how it was with my time at the Scarlets under Nigel - if you play well then you will have more chances. I know he has a similar outlook here, and that's great."
And the opportunity to test himself at a new club, playing in a different competition is one that he can't wait to embrace.
"One thing I'm really looking forward to, is the opportunity to test myself in a new environment.
"I've watched Premiership Rugby over the years, it's a really good standard of rugby and I'm looking forward to the challenge and doing my best for Gloucester.
"Every game is a tough game and has something riding on it. I've played in a league where there's no relegation so that'll be something new.
"All you can do is turn up every day and work your hardest, concentrate on your game and do the best you can. Hopefully, we'll bring the best out of each other."
