James Walsh and Sadie and the Hotheads, the two support acts, warmed the crowd up nicely but it was Ronan that they were all waiting for.
The former Boyzone member opened with hits such as 'Loving Each Day' and moved onto 'If Tomorrow Never Comes' to get things off to a flying start, and kept up the momentum with a mixture of old favourites and new songs from his latest album Fires.
He even slipped in a cover version of Arthur's Theme just to keep the crowd on their toes, and happily confirmed that Boyzone will be hitting the road again shortly to celebrate their 20th anniversary.
Predictably, the biggest cheers were reserved for his best known songs such as 'I Love it When We Do' and 'We've Got Tonight', before ending the evening with a rousing renditions of 'When You Say Nothing at All' and 'Life is A Rollercoaster' as encores which had everyone on their feet and cheers threatening to raise the roof.
He may have been in the business for 20 years and counting, but he's showing no signs of slowing up just yet.
The Gloucester crowd loved every minute of it and, despite the rain starting to come down towards the end, more than played their part in yet another successful concert Live at Kingsholm.
