The checks will again be evident at tomorrow evening's game against USA Perpignan in the Heineken Cup (6pm).
Many supporters will be aware that Gloucester Rugby has introduced an electronic bar code reader entry system at all the turnstiles and side entry gates.
The new system now allows the Turnstile Operator to easily see the grade of ticket being scanned. The reader screen will immediately identify concession tickets which allow access for juniors, senior citizens and supporters with special needs to use a reduced price ticket.
If the Turnstile Operator has any doubt about the person presenting the concession ticket or card, they will be asked for proof of age or evidence allowing use of the concessionary rate as follows:
a. Senior Citizens or adults presenting junior tickets or season cards may be asked their age with a valid formal document e.g. driving licence or acceptable photo ID
b. Holders of a concession ticket issued to the Military may be asked to present their Service ID Card
c. Students could be requested to show their photographic student card or a letter from their education establishment e.g. a letter from their 6th Form School
When supporters appear to be incorrectly using a concession ticket or card, they will be given a 'Ticket Upgrade Card' to be handed in at the Ticket Office. The ticket or card will not allow access at any other turnstile, and may be permanently void until the issue has been resolved.
The club would like to encourage supporters not to try and gain entry by erroneously using a concession ticket or card. This will only put the individual and the Turnstile Operator in an embarrassing situation, and could also cause a season ticket to become void for the rest of the season.
