Gloucester Rugby launched their Club Membership packages for the 2014-15 season last week and are now pleased to confirm, after discussions with England 2015, that agreement has been reached regarding their members and the initial World Cup ticket ballot.
The process will be confirmed in due course, but it is anticipated that, by early May, members will be able to register their interest online.
If successful, they will be able to purchase tickets from the official Rugby World Cup website by mid May. Participation in this priority sale will not exclude members from participating in future Rugby World Cup ticket allocation phases.
Gloucester Rugby CEO Stephen Vaughan confirmed the news today:
"We've been in discussions with England 2015 for some time now and we're delighted to be able to make this announcement today.
"The organisers are keen to ensure that Rugby World Cup tickets are made available to the most loyal of rugby fans. As a result, we felt that the fairest approach was to offer this opportunity to supporters who have committed to being members of the club in the lead up to the World Cup.
"This will include supporters who purchase one or more of our recently launched Club Membership packages, and members of our 1873 Club.
"Tickets will be purchased directly from the Rugby World Cup ticketing website and not from Gloucester Rugby itself, and we will confirm details as soon as we can."
