Ross, son of former Wales international back rower Paul, is also a back row forward by trade.

2012-13 saw him play regularly for Hartpury RFC and also make his breakthrough for Gloucester at first team level.

He was part of England U20s Six Nations squad and played a big part in England U20s winning the Junior World Championship for the first time, in France in 2013, and then going one better to defend the title in New Zealand in 2014.

Despite his success at age-group level with England, Ross was selected for the initial 47-man training squad by Wales for the Rugby World Cup 2015, later earning a recall to the 31-man squad, making his debut as a replacement against Uruguay in Wales' opening game.

Ross made his Six Nations debut for Wales against Italy in March 2016, scoring his first international try.

He was voted Young Player of the Season by the club's supporters for 2015-16.
