Another product of St Peter’s School, Lamb signed a professional contract in the summer of 2004 and made his full debut in 2005 against Brive, providing a breath-taking performance for the Kingsholm crowd. 

He progressed through the ranks at England, representing them at Under 16, Under 18 and Under 19 level.

Following a highly impressive season, Lamb was called into England’s 2008 Churchill Cup squad to tour the USA and Canada.

Lamb contributed with 16 points in England’s cup final victory over Ireland ‘A’. 

However, at the end of the 2008-9 season after 85 appearances and 570 points for the Cherry and Whites, Lamb moved to London Irish.
