The longest serving player in the current squad, Hazell is a huge hitting openside flanker with years of top-flight Premiership experience.

After making his debut in 1997, he began to cement his place at openside flanker and without numerous injuries in 2002-03 & 2003-04 seasons he would have continued to heighten his claims for further international honors. He has won 7 England caps to date.

He combines raw pace and instinct on the ground to make him one of the most difficult players to play against.

Despite being the No7 at Gloucester since he began his career, Hazell has found equally impressive rivals in Fijians Akapusi Qera and Apo Satala.

His loyal service was rewarded when he was granted a benefit for the 2008-9 season. 

He was named in Sky TV's Dream Team of the year in 2007 and runner up in Community Player of the Season in 2008-9.

Enjoyed a fine 2010-11 season and signed a new contract in the spring which will keep him at the club for another two seasons.

2011-12 was disrupted by niggling injuries but he's been a key presence in the dressing room in 2012-13 and signed a new one year contract in the spring.
