Dario joined Gloucester Rugby from Petrarca Rugby for the 2011-12 season.
Born in Kempton Park in South Africa, Dario learned his rugby at the renowned rugby nursery Paarl Boys' High and moved his way through the Boland rugby set up before moving to Italy aged 19.
He quickly established himself as the starting tight head at Petrarca and represented Italy A in the IRB Nations Cup and in the Churchill Cup in England in summer 2011.
A popular member of the squad, Dario found playing time difficult to come by behind Rupert Harden and Shaun Knight and it was confirmed in April that he would be moving to Italian side, Zebre.
