Twelve years with Exeter Chiefs from the age of five guided Ryan Mills, the Hartpury College captain in 2009-10, towards higher achievements with Gloucester, along with a place in the England U18 side and now the U20 squad.

His debut at that level was against Wales at Parc y Scarlets in February and scored one of England’s six tries in the 46-15 win over Ireland that clinched a Grand Slam.

As an academy player, he trained with the Cherry & Whites’ first team squad and has studied for a BTEC in rugby.

Was part of the England U20 squad who won the 2011 Six Nations Grand Slam and who reached the final of the Junior World Cup.

2011-12 has seen regular involvement with the first team squad and he hit the headlines with a matchwinning penalty at Bath.

Also featured in the England U20s 2012 Six Nations squad and Junior World Cup squad. 

Underwent knee surgery in the summer of 2012, and had to work his way back to fitness over a long period, but returned to play a key role in the first team in the spring of 2013.
