Each group participating will receive a bespoke coaching session, as each school is individually tailored for. Our qualified coaches' take the students through various rugby related games and tasks, and have over two years' experience with groups of pupils from year 3, 4, and 5. Coaches have one compulsory rule and that is to have fun.
The highly successful and popular program ensures the continuing success of grass roots rugby in the County, and has the hope of sparking the interest of many potential future rugby stars, which might be unaware of their hidden talent.
Benefits of participating in this fantastic program include a selection of brand new rugby equipment, an invitation to a tag rugby festival in Cheltenham, and a host of new and exciting life skills.
Squads of 10 pupils and 2 teachers are invited to the festival were each team play a minimum of four games of 7 a side tag rugby over the course of an afternoon.
The final of the Aviva Premiership tag rugby program sees all participants of the program being invited to the Worcester Warrior's fixture on 23rd of February for a lap of honour around the Kingsholm pitch on the tag festival parade, after which all pupils can enjoy the atmosphere with their school mates and their parents with their complimentary ticket.
Following this, each teacher is invited to the Lion's Den in March for a professional development evening, where Community Rugby Manager Simon Monahan will provide an evening of tag rugby education.
