Gloucester left it late in Bordeaux, two penalties in the final five minutes from Freddie Burns helping his side secure a 31-26 win at the Stade Andre Moga.
The win means that Gloucester have finished top of pool one of the Amlin Challenge Cup, and a win next against Mont de Marsan, will secure a home quarter final.
